Este documento hace referencia en América Latina posee la población mas joven de la región, el 41% de la población es menor de 15 años de edad, durante 30 años de 1950 a 1980, la población se duplico así mismo manteniendo una tasa de crecimiento de 2.8% por año, a pesar de que hay una disminución de la fertilidad, la cantidad de nacimientos ha seguido aumentando, entre 1950 y 1955, un promedio de 7 millones de nacimientos por año confirmado.
